A: Yes, most of my clients want to use materials that they already own either because of sentimental value or simple economics or both. The art of redesigning what you already own is a large part of my business.
A: On average, a custom piece will take about 4 to 6 weeks depending on the complexity.
A: Making of a custom piece of jewelry is a step by step process. It starts with a sketch of what the customer desires the piece to look like and from that a wax model is produced. The wax model is either cut by hand or via CAD/CAM machining. The wax model is representative of what the final size and fit of the final piece will be. After the customer approves the wax model, it is time for the final piece to be cast. The wax model is immersed in an inert substrate thus creating a mold. A precious metal such as gold is melted and poured into the mold under a vacuum. After casting, all finishing is done by hand. This includes any stone setting, fabrication and polishing. The final product is a jewelry piece that not only is beautiful and comfortable but will become a cherished piece of the customer’s jewelry collection.
